2nd Amendment True And False
Since we are as dumb as poop, and are therefore unable to protect ourselves, we should give them our guns and just rely on the police. That makes since. I mean after all that is the same reasoning our Founding Fathers had, right? Oh wait, no it isn’t. If the people of the USA continue to be distracted by the “spectacles” that this society continues to parade in front of us…we will allow the government to take over our rights and the sad thing is that most people won’t know it has happened until it has happened. But by then it is too late… So continue and vote for your favorite “american idol” more than you do your elected officials…Because it has worked out so well for you so far. Right?
We will use some of the things I learned in ELEMENTARY school and use for the “reasoning of the issues” a few simple questions. Who? What? When? Where? Why? and How? And I know this sounds simple enough. But sadly it seems a bit out of the mental grasp of our brilliant “elected officials”.
We will deal today with some of the myths I have heard from childhood about the 2nd amendment. Because it is the firm belief of my self, and of many if not all of my ancestors.. that if you don’t have a 2nd amendment, you don’t have a 1st. I know that there are more than 8 myths but these are the ones that jumped out at me.
Myth # 1 Guns are only used for killing.
My first response is B.S.. But then I wonder if they mean… guns were invented to kill only or if that is the only purpose? Well we already know the what part of this item… the evil gun. But I will help you with the others. First I will help you with the who… and that is easy. The Chinese. The invention of the gun should and can only be attributed to the discovery of gun powder. Without gun powder no boom. I know that they discovered it sometime in the 800’s (9th century A.D.) No one knows the exact date. But I remember some of the early Taoist texts say that the people that discovered it accidentally burned down the house they were working in when they made the discovery. (It sure is a good thing the 9th century Chinese were not yellow belly liberals or they would have just outlawed gun powder then and there. Or would have just held a meeting or something, and gathered the “experts”. To have them make a decision for them, so they could pawn it off as their own and pretend they were smart.)
Gunpowder was quickly used in a military use. Using the rapid expansion of gasses, they shortly were able to make bombs that they could lob over with catapolts or something like them. Then they moved on to cannons and such and were quickly able to make the first guns… aka “hand cannons”.
Now as far as the use. The weapon that the libtards and the media love to bash. Were guns made to kill. Yep, they sure were. But the idea I always here is that is their only purpose. I would say No. Think people. Why do police officers carry firearms? To deter criminals. Does it always work? Nope. Do police officers have to kill people sometimes? Yep. But the fire arm is what it is and people are who they are.
People often attribute killing to guns. Which is a false premise. They fail to see that killing has been around since the beginning. It goes back to the beginning of text… with the story of Cain and Able. Another misconception is that killing and murder are the same. This is also false. Killing is the taking of a life (self-defense, justified war, hunting…etc.) and Murder is the taking of an innocent life without just cause. And we see this on a daily basis here in the US. But it will still occur if you had no gun. Lets say this…all the guns in the world all of a sudden magically just disappeared. Ok, no more guns… therefore no more murder right? Sadly No. Since we know for a fact that murder happened way, way before the guns arrived. People would simply pick another vehicle to do the evil they have in their hearts. It couldn’t be that our children are never taught wrong from right. It couldn’t be that people are not held responsible for their actions, and therefore never learn that action = consequence. It couldn’t be that we have destroyed the family because of rebellion. It couldn’t be that people applaud, vial and debaucherous behavior as long as the people involved want to do it. It couldn’t be that our society tells our children there is no right and wrong, as long as you are happy. It couldn’t be that vial lifestyles are praised while others more “traditional” are laughed at. It couldn’t be that the perversion of the population knows no boundaries. It couldn’t be a society that glorifies the “thug” and nurtures the “thug” mentality, because it is cool or because of pride. Nah… it is the guns you idiot.
Myth # 2 Guns are dangerous when used for protection.
Let’s start by saying, WOW, Thank you Doctor Obvious. Guns are dangerous… Really?
Guns are no more dangerous as the person behind it. 1. once the bullet is fired, you cease having control of it. 2. if you don’t know what you are shooting at…DON’T.
My grandfather loved and had many guns. I knew from a young age the powerful destructive power of the gun. But that is almost misleading. Guns are an inanimate object. They are a “THING”. Remember that from 1st grade grammar? Objects (Object is another word for thing…for you “intelligent” libs) do not move by themselves. Some thing else has to move them. They have no will, no desire, and no thought. No gun in the entire history of the world, said (because they don’t have thought) I think I will go out and shoot something today.
With all that being said. People on the other hand, do have thought, desire and will. People do have the planning capability to wake up and say… I will shoot someone today. But guns do not.
Maybe we should outlaw, bad guys. No, that won’t work. How about outlawing people. No that won’t work either. But what we can do, is repair the things in peoples worlds that make them want to murder other people.
Last on this myth is this, You better believe it. If you come up to me or my family, and I think you will do bodily harm to anyone that I love. Yep, my 45 is very dangerous to you, and I would not hesitate to send you straight to hell. But most of the time when I hear this myth…they spout off about someone being shot by a stray bullet in some drive-by. And sadly the argument shouldn’t be used here because a drive by is not “self-defense” it is an offensive tactic. These drive-by idiots are the danger because again, the gun is an object.
The choice of ammo when someone carries for personal/ family self-defense, is as important as the choice to carry a firearm in the first place. A rapidly expanding bullet (frangible, hollowpoint, etc) will transfer all / most of the muzzle energy into the attacker and not exit. But a non expanding (full metal jacket, etc) which is the cheapest, will continue through the attacker and out. This is a huge problem for a second strike of the same bullet (stray).
Myth # 3 There is an epidemic of gun violence.
There is no more an epidemic of gun violence than there is of anything else. When suicide by gun went down in Canada. The supporters of gun control pointed to the success of their gun control legislation. But there is a problem with that. The suicides by other means (hanging, jumpers, etc) went way up. They increased even more than the reduction of gun related suicides. No one wants to outlaw rope. But that is only because the “elected officials” don’t fear rope. But they fear guns.
Gun violence is horrible. Many people are hurt by guns every year, some are an accident and some are not. What the brilliant officials seem to “overlook” is that more people are killed by teenagers driving, than by all ages killed by guns (both accident, and not). In fact the CDC reports that car crashes kill over 40,000 people a year. If you will follow this link ……. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/deaths.htm ...........
What is interesting to me is that you won’t find even homicides on the “leading causes of death” much less deaths from violent homicides involving firearms. In fact the list reads as follows… #1 then 2 and so on.
Heart disease… 652,486,
Cancer… 553,888 ,
Stroke… 150,074,
Chronic lower respiratory disease… 121,987,
Accidents… 112,012,( from unintentional injuries)
Diabetes… 73,138,
Alzheimers… 65,965,
Flu… 59,664,
Nephritis… 42,480
Septicemia… 33,373
What I find more interesting than there not being any “homicides” of any kind on this list… is that there is one other “epidemic” missing. AIDS …you know since we must give million, and billions of dollars to people all over the world… you would think it would at least make the top 10 or so…wouldn’t you…
Nah, the real important thing is taking guns away… right?
Myth # 4 Guns cause violence.
This is so ignorant it almost doesn’t even warrant a response. If someone spouts this from their mouth you should automatically deduct about 100 i.q. points right away. This would bring the most “educated” among us down to about … well barely able to tie their shoes…
Spoons are the cause of obesity.
Pencils, pens, and keyboards are in a world wide conspiracy to misspell words.
And to top it all off, if you walk around with your shoes untied you WILL break your neck… Really. I swear…
No doubt this one was thought up in some weed smoke infested room of some brilliant college professor.
Myth # 5 You are more likely to kill a loved one in your house than kill an intruder.
Which is why you shouldn’t shoot at anything you can’t see. What I want to know is; why they can’t tell the difference, between their wife and a robber? I could. I can tell the difference in the dark, with my eyes closed, not to mention smell. If they are shooting in the dark they should be slapped. If there is not enough light to see what you are shooting at… don’t shoot. You know they make a nifty new invention for when the lights go out… it is called a flashlight. They come in all shapes and sizes.
I have never shot anyone I know, much less love. And I can tell the difference between my wife, son, or brother or sister, or friend, and a stranger.
Not to mention that the burglar is the one in the ski mask. Plus if you are that jumpy with a firearm, you need to drill and practice with it in real life situations (at night in your house with the lights off type simulation.) to be able to…NOT be so shaky.
Myth # 6 Gun control helps reduce gun violence.
The problem with this myth is that it is 100% backward. The libs know this and still shout it like it is the gospel. Adolf Hitler said… “By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell -- and hell heaven. The greater the lie, the more readily it will be believed.” And sadly this is what we see today from the “elected officials” almost always of the libtard persuasion. They make these statements. More guns = more crime, and gun control is the answer to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Both statements are very great lies.
If “gun control” really works. Then places with the most gun control laws should be the safer than those that just allow anyone to buy a gun. AND the places where guns are not allowed at all… those should be the safest… right…Sadly, the place where the gun laws are the tightest…Washington DC … has the highest murder rate in the entire country. Then those places which have insane laws like NY, NJ, ILL and CA, should be the next safest… Wrong again… with these states also having higher crime / murder rates than any other of the large cities that reside in states, that have less gun control laws…
An interview by John Stossel with convicted maximum security felons, showed that they couldn’t care less about the law. Either for or against guns. They carry them anyway. Next, they also say they don’t fear the cops, as much as they fear an armed citizen. Then they say, that they don’t buy guns from a store anyway, and therefore don’t have to get a background check to buy from the back of some van or car on the street.
Myth # 7 We live in a different world than there was in 1778. So there is no use for the 2nd amendment anymore.
In fact that is true, to a degree. They didn’t have people that hate this country like we do today. They believed like some of us do, that the USA is the greatest country on earth. They also believed that they needed to be able to protect the country from enemies foreign and domestic.
Think about it folks. These brave men and women just finished fighting against the most powerful nation in the world at that time. And won it by the help of the people that would be today, crazy right wingers. The type of person the left loves to hate and smear any way they can.
They knew that government is made up and exists BY and FOR the people, not the other way around. They knew what it was like for government to get too big for their britches. And they decided to do something about it. They fought back. With what, you ask? With the arms they had.
This country is approaching a cross road, and must make the decisions that will affect its fate.
Myth # 8 The founding Fathers messed up in the 2nd amendment grammar.
Yeah, because you know that stupid, Jefferson, Franklin, you know… those idiots. What I find interesting about this one is that it would be the only mistake in “grammar” in the entire Constitution. The only misspeaking. The only oopsy.
People in power are as afraid of an armed people as the criminal on the street is afraid of the armed law abiding citizen. And that is why the 2nd amendment was written and put into law. The Country that does not fear its citizens will trample on them.

Nort Illinois University Shooting
We will start with the heading….
Gunman kills 6 at N. Illinois U
The ex-graduate student opens fire from a lecture hall stage with a shotgun and two handguns, then kills himself.
LET ME START… by saying, this shooting will baffle the “experts” and the “highly educated” folks in the world because they will have a hard time coming up with a motive. At least yet. (2-15-08 7:00am)
DEKALB, ILL. -- A gunman dressed all in black stepped on stage in a lecture hall at Northern Illinois University on Thursday and opened fire on a geology class.A short time later, five students were dead and the gunman had killed himself on the lecture hall stage. Sixteen others were wounded, at least two of them critically.
What have we learned so far? We have learned that an Ex-GRAD student of the same college took guns to class. Which is a big no-no in schools…and shot a lot of people. WAIT A MINUTE I thought that the STATE of Illinois had a lot of gun control laws. And you are not legally allowed to carry guns on school campi anywhere !? You mean a law that some stuff shirt idiot on Capitol Hill wrote a bill that was ignored by a criminal in the commission of a crime… HOW CAN THIS BE???? Oh wait…only law abiding citizens are affected by gun control laws because they ACTUALLY obey the laws. But the criminals will not, because they are criminals.
Lets continue...
Early Friday, the DeKalb County coroner said another student shot at the lecture hall had died, bringing the toll to seven, including the gunman. It was the fifth school shooting in a week in the U.S.
If you look at this short part you will see a couple of things. There is a positive side of the story. The person that committed this horrific crime, is now dead. And that is a guarantee that he won’t do this again.
The other thing I get from this is the way they phrase the last statement. “It was the fifth school shooting in a week in the US”… To me it is as if they were hoping for more. Just so they can get on their soap boxes and show the unwashed masses of the country how horrible guns are…
I am one that has come to believe that the reason that schools are such “good” targets is the fact that no one is armed there EXCEPT the criminal. And in turn, the criminal knows they have a tactical advantage and they don’t worry about some one stopping them. They know the Police can’t do anything until they get there, and by that time it is too late. They also know that since this is an “esteemed place of academia” and the people there are more intelligent than us knuckle draggers; they won’t have guns. Right, because only those with diminished intelligence would use such a crude and wretched weapon like a gun…. Or maybe, the gunman is just a sadistic son of a b*^$+, that gets off on watching people be afraid of him. But then again, I was not there… But he was a grad student from THEIR university…He was in sociology…maybe he was a sociopath…maybe he was just disturbed…maybe he was brain washed…or maybe he was a killer his whole life and just hadn’t killed anyone yet…What are they teaching there I wonder? I am sure whatever the reason is, some tree hugging libtard will figure out (you know because they are smarter than you) that it wasn’t his fault.
It probably happened because he was hugged too much…or too little. He was put in time-out too much…or too little. Or he was spanked too much … or too little. Or he was teased in school too much…or too little.
But what ever it is you can bet that it was any or all of the following…talk radio (conservative of course)… the NRA…some racist hate group (but only if people of minorities were shot)…and of course you can’t leave out the vast right wing conspiracy…
But enough of my rambling lets continue...
The violence at Northern Illinois unfolded about 3 p.m., as the entry-level ocean sciences class was wrapping up. The gunman -- described as a former graduate student -- stepped out from behind a black curtain on the lecture hall stage, armed with a shotgun and two handguns, police said. He first shot the instructor, who survived, and then began firing into the seats, filled with at least 100 students, authorities said.
Do you think he knew that no one had a gun but him? I would bet ( way more than I bet on the superbowl) that he did in fact know. In fact I bet (and would bet my life savings) he was counting on it.
Desiree Smith, 21, was taking notes on continental drift when out of the corner of her eye she saw a figure in a black ski cap step onto the stage, beside the instructor."He was holding this huge gun," she said. "I couldn't even process it. He stood there with the gun pointing down, almost like an action-movie poster -- that's what he looked like for a second. Then he lifted it up and shot at my teacher."
Not to be rude or anything to this young lady… but I wonder if she ever has shot a gun? Also was she speaking to the enormity of one of the pistols or of the shotgun? Does she know the difference between a shotgun, and a rifle, or an assault rifle? … The reason I ask is… my wife grew up around guns (she grew up on a farm) and she asked me a while back what the difference between a rifle and a shotgun. So going back to the question… did they interview the people that they believe to be the most hysterical and “strange to guns” … so they can get the most ignorant / hysterical point of view to exploit them…? Again I am not denigrating or belittling this young lady in the least. Because the media uses people to their own ends.
Smith dropped to the ground. Under the chair, she locked eyes with another student. They stared at one another in terrified stillness. Then the other student began to move. Afraid of being left alone, Smith followed her, clambering on elbows and knees up the aisle."I could feel people bumping me, crawling over me. Everyone was pushing, clawing at the ground, trying to get out as soon as possible," Smith said. When she got to the door, she could barely make herself stand. "All I could think was, 'I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die.' " She forced herself to get up, as shots and screams rang out behind her. "I'm sure I was running really fast, but it felt like slow motion," she said. Only when she had made her way into another building -- into an office, with the door locked behind her -- did Smith realize she had made it out uninjured."I kept thanking God, over and over," she said. "I didn't even know what else to do."
I pray for this young lady. She reacted exactly as she should have. Without a firearm to protect her-self, she was in no tactical position to do anything. She experienced something called the “Fight or Flight” response. It is an adrenaline dump that happens when you are confronted with a traumatic or dangerous situation… This young lady should be proud of herself, that she did exactly what she needed to do in the situation. Being from a city. I understand the idea of shootings, drive by’s to be exact. You must realize that in these type of situations, you have no control unless you are armed yourself. In her case you could have possibly done something… however in a drive by it is best to just kiss the pavement and seek cover.
This is assuming that the shooter was out of her arms reach. Given the opportunity… if a few of those students had been carrying a concealed firearm, and was proficient at shooting; This could have ended much sooner and maybe better with only the shooter being killed?
But since the gun control people have made our University’s / College’s safer by not allowing people / students to have guns there… Right?
John Puterbaugh, a senior, was in the building next door when the first survivors burst in and began barricading themselves in offices.Puterbaugh, the editor in chief of the campus newspaper, tried to talk to the witnesses; some broke down in tears, shaking, while others recounted the horror in flat, distant tones. One student in particular, Puterbaugh said, was in such shock that he seemed to be retelling the plot of a movie, "like it wasn't even real to him . . . as if he hadn't just seen a gunman open fire on his class."
So now what do we have here…. A “journalist” of the campus newspaper… directly after they have possibly survived the most traumatic situation they have ever experienced. Instead of trying to comfort them …HE starts to interview them…. Well I guess … just leave it up to a journalist to not give a damn about people as long as he gets his scoop… Right…
You can say that it is therapeutic for people to “vent” or “tell their story” but that is not the place. These young people will never forget what they have experienced. Not saying they can’t cope and deal with what they have gone through. But …lets move on.
Associate Dean W. William Minor saw students pouring out of Cole Hall -- and police arriving en masse, guns drawn -- but could not make sense of the scene."I thought someone must have called in a bomb threat," he said.Within minutes of the shooting police had locked down the campus, posted an alert on the university website about a "possible gunman on campus" and began e-mailing students.University President John Peters did not release the gunman's name but said he had been enrolled as recently as last spring as a graduate student in sociology at Northern Illinois. The 25,000-student campus is located in DeKalb, a semirural community about an hour's drive west of Chicago.
I have a few problems with this little bit…
The cops got there… but it was too late.
Once they get there they post a note on the website, and send e-mails
They assume that since they are not in Chicago…They are safe.
But this would have been much easier with the following. IF people would just understand that “guns” themselves are not the enemy. The real enemy are the idiots that commit a crime. Now the libtards that believe that people are good normally just don’t get it… IF people would realize that sometimes they are responsible for their own destiny, and not the government (police) they will be better for it. The police had NO POWER to help any one there at the time, because they were NOT there. They only come when they are called.
People who understand tactics, understand when you are being attacked, your firearm is your first line of defense. The cops will come in time. But if you refuse to have a gun… you are putting your life in the hands of a person that will take it. And you can call the cops… and they will come… and take pictures of your dead body and try to find out who killed you…… and maybe find and or prosecute them. But that won’t bring you back to life…
"We are surrounded by corn," said Kei Nomaguchi, an assistant professor of sociology. "I am shocked that this happened on our campus." Another sociology professor, Charles Cappell, said he could not think of any graduate students who had seemed disgruntled or unbalanced.
I hate to say it… Wait no I don’t. These “professors” are flipping idiots. I can’t believe these people are allowed to teach anyone. I want to know why this “ass. prof. of sociology” is really “shocked” after all shouldn’t (I don’t know whether the prof. is a male or female…and I know this is sexist of me but I will assume that they are a he) he know about our society and the flaws therein? Maybe he doesn’t think that evil people exist. And the other “prof of sociology” doesn’t know that most serial killers are described by their neighbors as “normal” and “nice guys” and that all their neighbors are “shocked” that they can be a serial killers.
I guess my grandfather was right … there are such a thing as “college bred idiots”.
But lets continue…he (2nd prof.) continues to say...
"We all have incredibly heavy hearts," he said.
Yes lets bring it back to our feelings............... You think jackass... Heavy hearts... You think....
Sorry I have to move on because my head will blow up if I don't...
Security had been stepped up on the campus in December, after students found menacing graffiti, including racial slurs, in a dorm bathroom. The scrawled note described last year's shooting at Virginia Tech -- which left 32 students and faculty dead -- as unfinished and warned of major changes to come at Northern Illinois.
Apparently not enough…or not the right kind at least……
Peters told a news conference he had "no reason to believe" the graffiti was related to Thursday's shooting, though police will investigate. The graffiti explicitly targeted African Americans; the gunman in Cole Hall appeared to be firing at random.
Well I guess we can all rest easier knowing the shooter wasn’t racist… Right?
University Police Chief Donald Grady said the assailant was found dead on the stage. Both of his handguns still had ammunition in them. Gun magazines were scattered across the floor.
What would have happened if our government really believed in the constitution and bill of rights… and someone would have “packing heat”. Would this situation have been differently?
Four of his victims were found dead in the lecture hall; the fifth was pronounced dead at a hospital.
I think this is a interesting statement… because yes they were victims… but were they willing or forced?… I am not one to sue for much or maybe even anything… but maybe someone should sue the government of Illinois… for not allowing their young son or daughter to protect themselves against this idiot…Maybe if they have to pay out a few hundred million dollars … THAT might make them rethink the issue…Or it might not… they would just raise everyone’s taxes I guess….
Several of the wounded made their way out of the lecture hall as the gunman was firing.Ben Gross, 22, said he was working at the office of the campus newspaper, the Northern Star, when he heard a "shots fired" bulletin on the police scanner. He raced to Cole Hall -- and then followed a trail of blood about 100 yards to the student center. In the campus bookstore, he saw a wounded student surrounded by paramedics.Other victims fled to a nearby dorm, Neptune Hall.
I wonder if this reporter waited to try to interview the victims…? I am not trying to be insensitive to the situation. Just trying to point out that sometimes the media doesn’t know when the time is appropriate to interview people and splash their lives all over the news.
Andrew Patten, a sophomore who had been walking through the area when the shots broke out, followed the wounded into Neptune Hall and treated a student with gunshots to the leg and hand. Someone handed him a first-aid kit, he said; next thing he knew, he was pressing gauze on the wounds and talking to the student about anything he could think of just to keep him conscious. He stayed until paramedics arrived."It's still kind of sinking in what actually happened," said Patten, 20.
I am proud of this man. He is a true leader. Helping when he is needed.
The shooting followed a string of violence in schools.
At least the writers at the LA Times have a real grip on the obvious…
Last Friday, a woman shot two students to death and killed herself at Louisiana Technical College in Baton Rouge. Also Friday, a man shot at his wife, a teacher, in an elementary school in Portsmouth, Ohio. This week, a high school student in Memphis, Tenn., was shot, allegedly by a classmate, during gym class. And a 15-year-old was shot at a junior high in Oxnard; he has been declared brain-dead.
And guns are to blame right? Or does it say a “woman shot” or a “Man shot” or a “student shot”? I am sure that the people were just pawns in the guns evil plan…. Right?… or is there a more ugly issue, a more underlying issue here?
In DeKalb, federal and state investigators worked late into the night Thursday, swarming the campus and setting up floodlights around Cole Hall, a two-story, red-brick building.
What is the job of the police again…? To protect and serve… if you didn’t know…But that does not do you any good if they don’t show up until about 20 minutes after the fact. Does it? Why are we too afraid to do what our Founding Fathers did and take up arms against those that do wrong to us?
With midnight approaching, law enforcement officers shot out the window of a white Honda Civic they thought belonged to the gunman and sent a bomb-detecting robot to circle the car. Police dogs were searching the area, which was blanketed in more than a foot of snow.
All this and they still can not have the crime preventing power on one “believer in the bill of rights” in the class. And if people in general would stop choosing to be victims to the idiots that do these kinds of things, maybe those that do these kinds of things would think twice about doing them in the first place…
While some students huddled together in their dorms, or tried to work through the trauma with counselors, Michelle Johansson, 19, said she had to leave campus. She no longer felt safe.
"I'm getting out of here," Johansson said, climbing into her car. "I just want to go home right now."
And the truth be told. No criminal (with any weapon) and the intent on murder cares two shakes about any law outlawing any weapon he has in hand, or can get, or make. I mean after all isn’t murder illegal too? So if the criminal does not care about the law when it comes to murder… why do you think he cares about another law… like not carrying a gun into a school…
Our world is a fallen one. Evil people live here. People do bad things. And bad things happen to good people. People have a choice in life… they can choose to be or not to be a victim. They can “wait for the police” and deal with the consequences of their actions. Or they can choose to use their God given right. And fight back against the evil and the injustice of the criminals.
Evil is here, and until the end of things, it is not going away. You can fight it. Or you can be consumed by it.
And as the moral fibers of our society continue to be unraveled by those that don’t have any… we will see more of this type of situation. Criminals know where and how to take advantage. But the “educated” keep telling the general population that the police are the ones to protect us from the criminals. But tell that to the families of these unfortunate young people.
What is your choice?

Confused about Free Speech...
It was in the "San Jose Mercury News" linked ... http://origin.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_8186244
What is sad about this article is that they only stop short of saying "them right-wingers want to kill your children"....
This is how the article starts…
“Several Republicans in Congress are moving forward with an effort to strip Berkeley institutions of federal funds in retaliation for last week's City Council vote telling the U.S. Marines their recruiting station is not welcome in the city.
Meanwhile, Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates issued an apology Wednesday to those who serve in the military for any personal offense taken by the council declaration last week.”
And again I have to say, the media has a clear and set agenda. What is this agenda you ask? It is the constant and ever expanding dissemination of the fascist ideals of the Left. They have no morals. And since they don’t have morals or don’t profess any, they shouldn’t have to be held accountable to any morals. –This makes sense…right?
But I will get back to the subject at hand. You will notice first the insertion of the “bad guys” in this case “several republicans” are trying to unfairly strip (the children of course, or “the greater good”) of much needed money. So basically we have a few things here… Republicans in congress are retaliating against small little Berkley city council. Even after they apologized for their utter stupidity.
I could go on all day about their ignorance but I will not. The story continues by stating...
“Six Republican senators, led by Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., and an Orange County representative on Wednesday introduced companion bills called the Semper Fi Act of 2008 that seek to take away $2.3 million from Berkeley earmarked in the 2008 Omnibus Appropriations bill and give it to the Marine Corps.
The funds are designated for school lunches, Bay ferry service, disability organizations, UC Berkeley and public safety.”
Now we have very subtle overstating of the senators affiliation. After all they second word in the piece of leftist drivel is that, they are republicans. Then the third sentence they state AGAIN that they are republican…(do the jounalists, and that is a loosest of terms, think you are too stupid to remember something from the first sentence to the third?) I have ADD and I have a short attention span. But I remember stuff that I read, even if there is one sentence in between.
So what do we have? Well the article goes on to say where the funds were going… “school lunches” = the children, “bay ferry” = the greater good, “disability orgs” = poor and disadvantaged people, UC Berkeley = the children (those that need assistance, can get it from the socialist peoples party a.k.a. the democrats), and lastly “public safety” = the safety for the greater good of the people.
What can we deduce from this section?… It is simple Republicans hate children and the public, especially the disabled or the poor in schools.
See that was easy. Shall we continue? The article goes on to say…
"Berkeley needs to learn that their actions have consequences," DeMint said in a statement. "Patriotic American taxpayers won't sit quietly while Berkeley insults our brave Marines and tries to run them out of town. Berkeley City Council members have shown complete ingratitude to our military and their families, and the city doesn't deserve a single dime of special pet project handouts."
This is a well spoken statement. Why? Because it is true. Most people (excluding those in Berkley of course) like the Military. Or at least think that the Military is a Good thing.
But wait here comes more libtard drivel…
“Bates and others wondered why the legislators would want to punish institutions that have nothing to do with the city government.
"There's really no correlation between federal funds for schools, water ferries and police communications systems and the council's actions, for God's sake," said Bates, a retired U.S. Army captain. "We apologize for any offense to any families of anyone who may serve in Iraq. We want them to come home and be safe at home." “
Now this is where it gets good, well, stupid, but good for commentary.
Bates and others… who are these mysterious others… is it the infamous “they” or “them” you hear of in so many “informed” arguments. I don’t know how many times I hear… well you know what they say… or… they told me… Usually when you hear this, some one is speaking out of their butt.
So what we have is the mayor and the unnamed persons of mysterious backgrounds, saying is …
Government controls schools, ferry systems and police. But the city councils actions (again government) should not be held against the government controlled stuff in California. And then says “for God’s sake”. Wait isn’t there a separation of church and state in this country?… Oh wait, that is just when it is convenient for the leftists.
Then the story says (of course, to prove he doesn’t hate the Military…right?) he (the mayor) is a retired US Army Captain. This statement has always baffled me. Are we supposed to think that he was a captain in the French, Mexican, or some other Army if they didn’t put on the US part? I love all the “military experts” or “retired military” the left is always trotting out to parade in front of us to help their credibility. But to this I only have one thing to say…
And that is that Benedict Arnold was a war hero too…Well before he sold us down the river that is.
On to the next point…
“A spokeswoman for UC Berkeley noted the university has a long relationship with the U.S. military.
"We think it's unfortunate that these senators would target the University of California simply because the campus is located in the city of Berkeley," Marie Felde said. "We have a long history of ROTC at UC Berkeley, and military recruiters come here to recruit frequently. It makes no sense to punish the campus." “
Here we go again, us evil right-wingers trying to single out schools and children and punish them for the actions of others…
What is sad is that this is a spokesman for the college. And I don’t even know where to start with the utter stupidity in this statement…I thought you were supposed to learn “how” to think in College and University, not “what” to think.
So I will go on.
“Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, who toured Berkeley last month promoting federal funding she had secured for her district, said in a statement that she would "strongly oppose" the bill.
And a spokesman for Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., said she would "vigorously fight any effort to cut funding to these programs." “
Boy it sure is a good thing that you don’t have to be educated to be in congress.
We learn a couple of things from this…
1. Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, does the whole “earmark thing” funding she secured for her district … huh?
2. She strongly opposes the un-funding of stuff she got as an earmark.
3. Barbara Boxer doesn’t get it. And on top of that she doesn’t have time to give her opinion herself. But the most fascinating thing is that her statement given by proxy is that they are going to cut funding of the programs.
What you have to remember is that, this is just the FEDERAL funding of these specific earmarks, no doubt slipped in the back pages of some noble piece of legislation…But what a lot of people fail to remember or know is that California has a larger economy than most countries in the civilized world. (I believe it is about the 4th or 5th largest in the world) So don’t tell me they cant afford it.
On we go...
“Ann Cooper, director of nutrition services for the Berkeley Unified School District, which receives federal funds through the Chez Panisse foundation, called the congressional effort "absurd." “
What with the economy as crappy as it is we should continue to give out free stuff and free money. (how many of these poor disadvantaged children getting these “free lunches” are children of ILLEGAL immigrants that don’t pay taxes? Or only ask what this country can do for them instead of asking what they can do for this country?)
Then this brilliant lady goes on to say this little gem…
“ "Why anyone would want to take healthy food away from children is just beyond me," Cooper said. "We're in the throes of a health crisis due to childhood obesity, and Berkeley is one of the very few cities in America that's actually really working on children's health through school food." “
Again with the Republicans ( or you can substitute the right wingers) want to starve your children. But wait… I thought she said they are in a health crisis because of little fat kids. And that Berkeley is one of the only cities doing anything about it…
Holy bat crap… When did we start teaching people to be stupid, and then put them in charge of nutrition of our children?
If kids are fat. Make them get off the couch, away from the playstation, xbox and just tv in general, and have them do something physical. I mean nutrition is a good start… but eventually they will plateau and will have to get up and move.
And where the HELL are the PARENTS. Our kids being fat is not a school problem, or a government problem, or a public health problem, it IS a parenting problem. And when did the school lunch lady become the parent of all our kids…??
But that goes in line with the socialists agenda… you know… from each according to their means, and to each according to their needs…
I am sure I am being insensitive or close minded… maybe I hate kids or just fat people. Who knows…I mean I watched Rosie when she was on and I liked the show… well at least I did before she got so fat… oh wait… nevermind…
Moving on…
"Bates said the council's declaration was a symbolic act against the war in Iraq, not against the "men and women who serve in the Marines or any other armed force." "
Ok I have two words for you…
The first is the male cow…
The second is exactly that #2
If it was indeed a symbolic act… why the need for a resolution from a governing body? Let’s see if I have this right…
It is against the war…and the Marine recruiters…but not those that chose to join the Marines as a job. Knowing full well that they may have to go to war. You can't criticize a institution but then “not mean any criticism” toward those who identify them selves with that organization. I know this because they tell you when you join. And they tell you that you will have to use a gun too. And we all know that guns kill people right boys and girls?...
..............................................................Well not ani mor than thiz keybord makes mi hav tiepoes.
WOW all I can say is … what stunning intellectualism…
“Two Berkeley City Council members this week said they would ask the council on Tuesday to rescind the item that declares the Marines "uninvited and unwelcome intruders." But Betty Olds and Laurie Capitelli, who wrote the proposal, did not move to retract three other related items the council approved at the same meeting: calling on residents to impede the work of any military recruiting station in the city; asking the city attorney to investigate whether the Marines violate city laws banning discrimination based on sexual orientation; and giving the protest group Code Pink a free weekly parking space and sound permit to protest in front of the Shattuck Avenue recruiting station. “
So now that they are found out, they want to say “do over”… huh funny how that works.
But they still want people to impede the Military’s freedom of speech. Plus what happened to the Clintonov policy of “don’t ask, don’t tell”. I mean you can’t go into the Marine recruiter in a dress(if you are male) and expect to not be found out...
And another thing why is it that people that have morals must compromise to debased behavior and debaucheries, but they don’t ever have to compromise. As if to silence our freedom of speech. Funny how that works.
"Code Pink plans to be at Tuesday's council meeting, as does a pro-military group called Move America Forward, which said Wednesday it is bringing the mother of the first Navy Seal killed in Iraq from Arizona. Move America Forward plans to stage a daylong protest in front the council chambers. "
I wonder if anyone gave them a permit to have noise amplification like they did for “code pink” in front of the Marine recruiters? I doubt that. In fact it is only stifling freedom of speech if you don’t have morals and you speak out.
"The Senate bill was introduced by DeMint, Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga.; Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla.; Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas; Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla.; and Sen. David Vitter, R-La. Rep. John Campbell, R-Newport Beach, introduced the companion bill in the House. "

What can we learn from this article?…
A few things.
Freedom of speech is under fire but only for those on the right.
Freedom of speech is only if you don’t offend someone
Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak out and not worry about being thrown in jail. Not your right for all people in the world to hear you. We don’t have that freedom in the Constitution.
According to the media… democrats love kids, republicans want to starve your children to death.
People in Berkeley, Cal. Want to invoke the freedom of speech issue when it comes to them not getting money from the government, because of something they drafted by legislation by a governing body… but have no problem silencing the voices of the people that don’t agree with them.
That is all for now…

Code Pink Sucks
Code Pink Protects Berkeley
SAN FRANCISCO - The City of Berkeley, California has passed two resolutions attacking the United States Marine Corps, calling the Marines, "uninvited and unwelcome intruders in the city."
The Berkeley City Council voted to condemn the Marines on Tuesday night (January 29th) as part of a campaign by anti-war activists to shut down a U.S. Marine Recruiting Center located in the city of Berkeley.
The votes by the Berkeley City Council were immediately condemned by Move America Forward, the nation's largest grassroots pro-troop organization. "It is disgraceful that in the birthplace of the Free Speech Movement, anti-military activists would attempt to silence the same military men and women who serve this country and give their lives to protect the free speech rights of all Americans, including these ungrateful and despicable people on the Berkeley City Council," said Melanie Morgan, Chairman of Move America Forward.
Since they are just "pink" does that mean that they are just burnt out washed up communinsts? I wonder............. Maybe the city council should grow a pair and tell these people that "EVERYONE" has free speech. Not just the liberal fascists.
Now, I have a couple of questions here.
1. Is this equal treatment under the law to "code pink" or is it special treatment? Seeing as they were just given the permit.
2. Did Move "Move America Forward" receive the same permit? Or were they just left hanging out to dry while the pinkos get special treatment?
"We have hundreds of thousands of military men and women serving honorably overseas to protect our freedoms. Imagine how they feel when they go to turn on the news and see that they are being stabbed in the back by shameful people here at home, it's disgraceful!" said Catherine Moy, Executive Director of Move America Forward.
Probably the same way they did in Vietnam. Maybe if these pinkos and the like, had the same amount of patriotism as those that are and have bled and died or lost limbs for this country. It would be a better place.
Editor's Note: The sound permit is necessary for any amplified sound ie protest chants or songs, addressing a crowd, etc. This is one of the more difficult permits to get in Berkeley, as it requires an environmental impact assessment.
An environmental impact assessment to give a permit to amplify sound? Really? Is the sound going to hurt some chipmunks ears...? Maybe it will make the sky fall? Or maybe mess up the migration of some rare owl or whale or monkey, or maybe it would make the San Andreas fault dump California into the ocean................... Oh Wait... Can I get one of those permits?
